We searched the pet products and pet accessories market and could not find a safe and enjoyable way to carry our small dog, "Chanel". Our 9-year-old Lhasa Apso is like a child to us. With our active lifestyle, we felt guilty leaving her home alone. My husband and I took matters into our own hands one Sunday afternoon in February 1994. After several home-made prototypes of the animal backbacks, we developed ergonomically correct products with the help of an engineer.
